Download UltraCorr2025 (ChessBase new format)

In mid-January we released UltraCorr2025, which has over 2,680,000 games including many with annotations.

Sales of UltraCorr are currently suspended because some major family events means that we cannot provide any support for it or issue passwords to new customers for the foreseeable future.

We are leaving the download links available in case anyone who has already bought the product needs to download it again.

In the summer we may be able to resume with a version 2 which would be free to those who already paid this year, but at the present time we cannot know if that will be possible.

This is the page to download it in the 2CBH format. If you do not yet have ChessBase17 or ChessBase18, you should instead go to our CBH download page.

You only need to download one file, an encrypted ChessBase archive file called UC-2025.2cbz (approx size 438.45 MB). This will expand to seven files totalling about 2.83GB on your computer.

WARNING: We strongly recommend that you use either Google Chrome or the Firefox browser to download our database because Microsoft Edge sometimes tries to change the filename.

To download with your Windows browser, right-click on the link below and select the option "Save link as...".

If you directly click the link below in some browsers you may receive an error message or gibberish can appear on your screen. The majority of complaints we have received in the past arose from users failing to follow this advice. To avoid that happening, please right-click the link.

Choose a destination folder for the database on your computer hard drive. Or, if you don't have a choice of destination, move the file afterwards from your Downloads folder to your chosen location.

Download the 2CBH version of UltraCorr2025 now!

After downloading and entering the password (see below) the 2CBZ file will expand to a 2CBH format database consisting of seven files taking up about 4.35GB on your hard drive.

It is highly advisable to create a new folder which will hold only the expanded UltraCorr2025 database. Do not try to open the file in Windows, but only in ChessBase after you have made a backup.

The downloaded 2CBZ file is like an ordinary 2CBV archive except that it is password protected. The passwords for both download files are different strings of alphanumeric characters.

The database will not open without the password(s) which we shall email to you after we receive PayPal's notification of your payment.

The password will normally be sent to you within an hour or two, unless we are asleep or out of the house, in which case there could be a delay of few hours.

The downloaded file can be copied to where you need it. It will not open within ChessBase until you pay and receive the password from us. The 2CBZ file contains all the separate files of the database and within a couple of minutes of entering the password you will have a functioning UltraCorr-2025 database in the CB17 format.

After expanding the database you will be able, should you wish, to convert it to PGN or other proprietary formats but we will not do this for you. A PGN version would require much more space on your hard drive.

You can download first and pay later, or first send us your payment via PayPal. Payment through PayPal is completely secure and we do not collect any financial or personal information other than your name and email address which we require to send you the password.

We cannot emphasise too much that once you have downloaded the 2CBZ file, you should save it in a separate folder from the working folder. Every year we get requests to resupply the file and we cannot guarantee to be available to do this.

Large databases like this can easily get corrupted and you should make regular backups if you add your own games or edit the database.

We also strongly recommend keeping a copy of the database on a backup resource, such as a portable hard drive USB, in case you have any problems later.
